72 years of the Hercules! On August 23, 1954, the first Lockheed Hercules took flight from Burbank, California. More than seven decades later, the C-130 Hercules continues to serve – including in the fight against wildfires.

C-130H airtankers are used for rapid initial attack, delivering fire retardant to wildland fires. The first C-130H was put into service at AEU’s McClellan Airtanker Base on August 26, 2024. Today, these aircraft are strategically located throughout California and are an important part of the state’s aerial firefighting response.

KC-130J Fuselage Trainer arrived at Marine Corps Base Hawaii

After making its way through some less-than-ideal weather, the first KC-130J Fuselage Trainer has arrived at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, expanding training capabilities for 1st Marine Aircraft Wing aircrews.

Designed to replicate the aircraft, the trainer provides a realistic environment to rehearse the full range of KC-130J missions on the ground while keeping operational aircraft available for real-world needs.

Yokota Airmen continue supporting earthquake recovery operations in Kumamoto Prefecture, helping prepare, load, and deliver critical relief supplies to affected communities within our host nation.
