We will remember them… HILTON22.
On 30 January 2005, at 1330 Zulu, XV179, call sign Hilton 22, a Royal Air Force C-130K Hercules, was shot down during Operation Telic. Sadly, all crew and passengers were lost.
Today, a remembrance service was held outside the old 47 Squadron building at RAF Brize Norton.
RIP to the crew of Hilton 22. I never knew any of the lads on this crew but I was flying missions in Iraq during that period in 2005, and I remember that day well. You are not forgotten. Blue skies and fair winds. credits Todd Shugart
